Product Description

Tierra Roja, a special vineyard and a special wine that will transport you to the red earth of the eastern hills of Oakville with each sip. One vineyard, one wine. We are located in the heart of the Oakville appellation, at the center of the Napa Valley in California. Surrounded by other first class vineyards that you may know; Rudd, Screaming Eagle, Joseph Phelp’s Bacchus, Dalla Valle’s Maya, Plumpjack and more.

Linda Neal has been growing grapes at Tierra Roja Vineyard since 1987. In September of 2007, the very first release took place of a wine made solely from the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown there. It was the 2004 vintage and was quickly met with acclaim from wine professionals and consumers alike. Winemaker, David DeSante, created a luscious wine that really brought out the unique flavors of this heritage site.

Tierra Roja Cabernet Sauvignon is made exclusively from the grapes of our own vineyard, located in Oakville, at the heart of the Napa Valley. Since the inaugural 2004 vintage, this wine has been met with rave reviews from wine professionals and consumers alike.

Winemaker, David DeSante, really captures the essence of the soils in this powerful, yet elegant wine. The name comes from the distinct red earth that gives Tierra Roja grapes their unique flavors. Owner, Linda Neal, has been growing grapes at this location for over 20 years, though vineyards were planted here as far back as the 1920s. For the past 20 years Linda has been a vineyard manager, tending vineyards for other owners. Now, she concentrates full time on her own vineyard and new wine.
