2009 Bergström "Cumberland Reserve" Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
Product Description
the 2009 Cumberland Reserve reads a bit like a Who's Who of contemporary Oregon viticulture (de Lancellotti, Bergstrom, Shea and Temperance Hill are on the list, among others). Aged for 12 months in 17% new French oak and barrels ranging in age from one-year-old to five, the wine has a spicy profile that is appealing and complements the cherry, raspbery and blackberry fruit character nicely. There's a suggestion of milk chocolate and rosemary roast beef that emerge after the bottle has been open a bit. Powerful Pinot, with silky tannins and supporting acidity that make this drinkable now and over the next five years.
